Scope and Content

An account book of Soar Chapel, Talsarnau, 1857-1872, together with book lists belonging to Rowland Edmunds whilst deacon there, 1858-1978.

A farming and droving book ranging in date from 1851-1873. Includes information regarding the family of Rowland Edmunds, along with details of the prices of goods and animals, wages of farm workers and Moel-y-glo valuations.

Also includes a book list belonging to E. M. Edmunds, son of Rowland Edmunds whilst a member of Bezer Chapel in Llanbedr, Merioneth, 1913-1916.

Administrative / Biographical History

Rowland Edmunds of Moel-y-glo, Llandecwyn, Merioneth was a farmer and a husbandman. He was also a deacon at the Wesleyan Chapel, Soar in Talsarnau. He was the husband of Elizabeth Jones, whom he married on 13 June 1851, and the father of E. M. Edmunds of Talartro, Dyffryn Ardudwy.
