Sir Milne Cheetham (1869-1938) Knight
Born 9 July 1869, son of J.M. Cheetham. In 1894 entered Diplomatic Service; Secretary in Paris, 1896, Secretary in Berlin, 1901. Then 1st Secretary in Rome, 1905; chargé d’affaires at Rio de Janiero, 1908-1909; Counsellor of Embassy, Cairo, 1911-19; Minister to Peru & Ecuador, 1919-1920; Minister in Paris, 1921-1922; Minister in Switzerland, 1922-1924; Minister in Athens, 1924-1926; Minister in Copenhagen, 1926-1928. Married 1st (1907) Anastasia, daughter of M.N. Mouravieff (div. 1923) - one son; 2nd. Cynthia, daughter of Sir Horace Seymour. KCMG 1912, CMG 1912. Died 6 January 1938.
