Hubert William Culling Carr-Gomm 1877-1939

Carr-Gomm was educated at Eton and Oriel College, Oxford. He was Liberal MP for the Rotherhithe Division of Southwark, 1906-1918. Carr-Gomm was also Assistant Private Secretary to Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman, 1906-1908, and a 2nd Lieutenant in the 3rd Volunteers Battalion of The Queen's R. W. Surrey Regiment, 1901. During World War I (1914-1918) he was Captain in 2/22nd Battalion of the London Regiment (The Queen's) from 1914 to 1917; he served in France, 1916, and Salonika, 1917.
