Two letters to Sadie Lereculey, one from Howard Ferguson, the other from Myra Hess.

Administrative / Biographical History

Sadie Lereculey assisted Howard Ferguson and Myra Hess in organising the concerts that took place at the National Gallery during the Second World War. Lereculey worked for Ibbs and Tillett, music agents. Ferguson and Hess were both on the Executive Committee for the organisation of concerts at the National Gallery. They planned the programmes and then passed information to Ibbs and Tillett to book the concert performers.

Donated to the archive by Mr Leigh Jennison, who found the letters inside a book purchased in Hampstead in the mid 1990s.
