Scope and Content

John Rolph of Burwell, Cambridgeshire, and Mary his wife release to William Richmond of Swaffham Prior and Thomas Livermore of the same certain land in Bottisham, being in their possession by Indenture of lease dated the previous day [Doc 420] to them and their heirs to the use of Thomas Livermore and his heirs for ever; and whereas John Rolph and Mary his wife levied a fine of the land to William Richmond and Thomas Livermore, it is agreed that this and all other fines and recoveries shall be to the use of Thomas Livermore and his heirs for ever. Witnesses: John Edwards, Robert Kent. On the back is a receipt for the consideration money signed by John Rolph. Date: the same. Four seals are attached.

Purchased from John Whitaker, Cambridge (from Hove, Sussex) 13 August 1917 (With this cf Add 5958(14), the original of which was bought from E. Williams, 37 New Town, Hove, Sussex. Mr Whitaker's lot from Hove presumably came from the same vendor.
