Scope and Content

Oxford St. Peter in the East has many

Poor Law papers, including documents on

Settlements, Removals, Bastardy cases

and Apprenticeships, most of which were

bound up into three large guardbooks in

the 1760s. There are also some papers on

the 1821 and 1831 censuses, and a

sequence of accounts going back to 1627.

See PAR213/4/F1/4 for two memoranda on

settlements and removals.
