This oral history collection comprises 19 interviews with sports people in the Melton District. The interviews were conducted by Colin Hyde in 2008-2009 and cover both men and women from a range of sports, both amateur and professional. Subjects covered include family, sports clubs and their administration, changes seen in sport, competition at local, national and Olympic levels.

Administrative / Biographical History
Taking Part was a four year project led by Melton Carnegie Museum that aimed to record the wide range of social and economic sports related activities in Melton and the surrounding villages. The project formed part of a community archive which was being developed at the museum as part of its celebrations for the Cultural Olympiad, 2008-2012.
