Scope and Content

At a view of frankpledge and Court Baron held by Charles Halloway, Esq., steward, 3 Apr. 1635. To this court came Andrew Pettitt and Alice his wife who held by copy given at a view and Court held 19 Apr. 1632 (after the death of Humphrey Mickley, clerk) for the said Alice and her heirs one messuage...in the west end of Ashwell...(the said Alice having been examined by herself secretly), and they now surrendered the messuage to the use of John Shipman of Ashwell who is here and seeks to be admitted, he pays his fine and is admitted. Signed by Charles Halloway, steward.
