Whereas a marriage is intended between Edmond Williamson junior of Westminster and Martha Rampayne daughter of Charles Rampayne of the same; and whereas Edmond Williamson sold to Charles Rampayne, John Shelton of London, John Rampayne of Westminster and Charles Farwell of Westminster certain land in Writtle by Indenture dated he previous day for the term of one year, by which Indenture they stand possessed of the land; Edmond Williamson in consideration of the marriage and of a competent portion conveyed to him by Charles Rampayne releases to Charles Rampayne, John Shelton, John Rampayne and Charles Farwell the land in question, to them and their heirs for ever for the use of Edmond Williamson for life, then to the use of Charles Farwell and Richard Farwell his brother during the life of Edmond Williamson, and after his death to the use of Martha Rampayne as jointure, after their death to the use of their sons in priority of birth and their heirs for ever, in default similarly to their daughters, in default to the right heirs of Edmond Williamson. And whereas Christian, Lady Barkley, of Twickenham, Middlesex, by Indenture dated 20 September 1679 demised to James Edwards of Isleworth certain land in Isleworth for a term of ninety-nine years at the rent of two turkeys or a certain sum; and whereas John, Lord Barkley of Twickenham by Indenture dated 15 October 1685 demised to James Edwards the same land for a term of ninety-three years; and whereas James Edwards by Indenture 23 August 1698 assigned to Edmond Williamson the land for the residue of the terms; and whereas Arnold Joost, Earl of Albemarle, of Twickenham, by Indenture dated 24 March 1699 demised to Charles Smith of Isleworth the land in question for a term of ninety-nine years; and whereas Charles Smith by deed poll dated 7 February 1700 declared that his name was only used in trust for Edmond Williamson; Edmond Williamson, in consideration of the marriage and of a competent portion conveyed by Charles Rampayne, and Charles Smith assign to Charles Rampayne, John Shelton, John Rampayne and Charles Farwell the land in question for the residue of the terms on trust that they permit Edmond Williamson to take the rents for his life and afterwards to Martha Rampayne as jointure, on her death to their sons and their heirs male in priority of birth, in default similarly to their daughters, in default to the executors of Edmond Williamson. If Edmond Williamson settles land of equal or greater value he may sell the land at Isleworth. Witnesses: John Turner, John Gutch. Five seals are attached.
