Sanskrit text of the Karanda-vyuha-sutra, a discursive work on the cult of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. Avalokitesvara is portrayed on the first page in Tibeto-Nepalese style. The text is written in an ornamental Nepalese script, and the pages are stacked between two wooden boards and tied around with braid.
