Scope and Content

Includes: (fo. i) notes of contents (19th century); (fo.ii) alphabetical index; (fo. 1) printed shields, with helmets and mantling, crest and coat filled in by hand, usually with the family name. Those towards the beginning and end are painted. Inside the front cover is 'Saml. Sandars 1889 Chalfont Bucks. 7 De Vere Gardens W. Trin. Coll. Camb. A.M.' and the bookplate of William Constable. On the flyleaf is a note by S. Sandars of the contents 'From Burton Constable Library Yorkshire Sold June 1889'.
