Lauder Lindsay, M.D., Assistant Physician, Crichton Royal Institution, Dumfries, 1854-1855, and list of lichens which yield dyes based on Les Lichens Utiles by F. Henneguy, Paris, 1883, and Further list of Highland Native Dyes from Occasional Papers by R.C. Maclagan pp. n.d. Acquisition Information

Items in the box were transferred to the RBGE Archives from the RBGE Herbarium (Lichenology) in 2014. The items were bought from an Antiquarian Bookseller (Grant & Shaw Ltd. Edinburgh) by Brian Coppins in 1998.

Physical Characteristics and/or Technical Requirements

Album has loose covers, is dirty and contains fabric samples attached using sharp pins. Extreme care should be used when handling this collection, and album should be supported when in use.

Archivist's Note

Pattern book is in need of conservation and a clean.
