Scope and Content

The collection consists of the diaries of Rev. E. Cefni Jones, 1891 - 1961; the diaries and account books of John Nathan Edwards, 1866 - 1891; together with the sermon notes of Robert Roberts, Plas y Bonwm, 1843 - 1844.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Rev. E. Cefni Jones served as a methodist minister in Llanberis, Caernarfonshire; Blaenau Ffestiniog, Merionethshire; Hirwaun, Denbighshire and Bangor, Caernarfonshire. He was born in 1871 and died in 1972.

John Nathan Edwards of Berlin House, Blaenau Ffestiniog was the father of Mrs E. Cefni Jones and the artist, J. Kelt Edwards.

No information was available on Robert Roberts of Plas y Bonwm. Location of Plas y Bonwm is unknown, although the place name, Bonwm, appears in the parish of Corwen, Merionethshire.

Arrangement

The collection has been incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts and arranged according to creator and chronologically.
