Scope and Content

Elizabeth Scarfe of Cambridge devises to her son William Scarfe a certain sum in addition to that given him by his father's will, certain property to the same, certain property to her executor, certain further property to William Scarfe; to her daughter-in-law Eleanor Scarfe a certain sum; to her granddaughter Elizabeth Scarfe a certain sum and certain property; to her cousin Ann Martin a certain sum and certain property; to Elizabeth Turner wife of Barnard Turner certain property; to Ann Turner her goddaughter a certain sum; to any maid who has lived with her one year and attends her in her illness a certain sum; to her son Hickle Scarfe certain property; the residue to Hickle Scarfe; she appoints Hickle Scarfe executor. William Bridge of Cambridge makes oath that the will was written and subscribed by Elizabeth Scarfe, who died 29 June 1740. Hickle Scarfe of Earl Stonham, Suffolk, and Samuel Brackley of Holborn, London make the same oath. Endorsement in margin: 'Examined and Extracted by Me Thomas Adderley Notary Publick Proctor in Doctors Commons.'
