George Crabbe (1754-1832) was a poet. His son, George Crabbe (1785-1857), was a biographer. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.

The papers were bought from The George Gregory Book Store, Bath, in 1930, and given to the Library by the Friends of the Bodleian.
