Scope and Content

Three German devotional works:

  • 'Auszug aus den Buech der Zwei [?] schwesteren Mechtildis und Gertrudis worinen allerhandt auserlesene Gebetter begriffen sein', in cursive German script, late 17th century. Alternate leaf decorated with cut-out borders, with two full-page Schnittbilder
  • 'Christlich Andachts Ubngen Zm Ntzen nd Helsamen Gebrache From[m] Christen 1777', in cursive German script, illustrated with twenty-three engravings. most of them illustrating 'Krez Weeg Jesu Christi...'. See Adolf Spanner Das Kleine Andachtsbild (Munich: 1930)
  • 'Gebett Buch mit auserlesnen Gebettern. 1784', in calligraphic script, with pen-and-ink decorative head and tail pieces, and decorated head words, with a list of contents, and the initials F.I.S. in a decorative frame, followed by 'Gebett Buch mit auserlesnen Gebettern Geziehet von J[?] D[?] 1780', in similar style.
