Administrative / Biographical History

Yale and Hardcastle, chartered surveyors, were based in Caernarfon, Caernarfonshire. From the late 19th century, they acted as agents for many estates, and the Crown lands, in North Wales. The firm accumulated papers relating to lands in Merionethshire, including the Brogyntyn and Glyn estates, and businesses, including Portmeirion Ltd, operating hotels and self-catering accommodation.
