Administrative / Biographical History

C.A.L. Meredith was born in Bloemfontein, Orange Free State, South Africa in 1898. As a Corporal, later 2nd Lieutenant, 26th (Bankers) Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, and 4th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment, he served in Egypt/Palestine. Then, attached to the RFC (Royal Flying Corps) and RAF (Royal Air Force), he again served in Egypt/Palestine. Later he became a doctor.
