Correspondence

Correspondence regarding the Hallett and Hilliard families, Gainsborough’s ‘The Morning Walk’, Crowley House, the Hallett family portrait by Francis Hayman and Gainsborough exhibitions held in 1936 and 1953. There are three files relating to Brockwell’s letters to ‘The Times’. The series also includes newspaper cuttings and copies of publications in which his letters appeared.

The letters are predominantly arranged into files by correspondent, in chronological order.

Where the letters have originally been filed by subject, with other related materials, these have been kept together and listed as such.
