Scope and Content

This oral history collection comprises 35 interviews conducted between 1994 to 1999. Interviews focus on life in villages around Boston, Lincolnshire including Old Leake, Friskney, Butterwick, Bennington, Fishtoft, Wrangle and East Keal. Topics include village life, medical care, the Second World War, and school days.

Administrative / Biographical History

This collection was organised by Blackfriars Art Centre and produced by Joan Barr for Blackfriars Community Story Collecting Project in 1994. Material collected was used for a book of reminiscences containing work from participating schools, illustrations, photographs, talks. It was deposited with EMOHA in 2013.
