This material is held atCambridge University Library

Scope and Content

Personal papers, correspondence, notes, drafts and writings of Charlotte Lady Blennerhassett, chiefly, and her husband, Sir Rowland Blennerhassett. This includes a series of Lady Blennerhassett's working notebooks, collections of reviews and her correspondence with family members, friends and prominent individuals including Ignaz von Dollinger, Lord Acton, Franz Xaver Kraus and members of the German nobility. Sir Rowland Blennerhassett's papers include copies of his speeches, political essays, lecture notes and material gathered for his obituary.

Arrangement

The system of arrangement does not reflect archival order. Many of the bundles have been retained as found - the material was presumably gathered together and labelled by Charlotte Lady Blennerhassett or by one of her relatives. No attempt has been made to sort or re-order material. For details of the deposit and original numbering, see MS Butterfield 468.
