Administrative / Biographical History

One World Action was founded by Glenys Kinnock in 1989, initially as the Bernt Carlsson Trust. By providing money, expertise and practical help to local organisations in developing countries, One World Action aimed to support the growth of democracy and permit those living in poverty to have a greater say in decisions that affected their lives. It provided funding, training and lobbying opportunities to the communities it supported. The organisation closed in 2011.
