Administrative / Biographical History

Dolgelley Station was a crossing station in Dolgellau, Merionethshire. It was also known as the Bala & Dolgelley station, and was opened on 4th August 1868. Prior to the absorption of the Cambrian Railway, Dolgelley was the last station on the Great Western line, and the commencement of the Cambrian Company's line to Barmouth Junction. The Railway ran through Dolgelley from 1868 to 1964.
