Scope and Content

In consideration of an undisclosed sum, John Finor of Little Eversden confirms his gift (with warranty) to William Jakes of Great Eversden and Basilia his wife, and to the heirs of their body, of one selion of land in Heydon field, lying in Bradefeud between the land of Richard Carpenter and Robert le Messer, abutting on Bradefeud Way, at an annual rent of one halfpenny, payable at Easter, for all services. Undated, deed poll, witnessed by William Pudifat, William de Cruce, Alexander le Rus, William Faber, Simon Carpenter, Richard Carpenter, Hamelin of the fishpond ('vivar''), Walter Roche, Roger Clerk, and others. White oval seal: '?SIGILLO' motto with ear-of-corn motif. Contemporary endorsement: 'Carta Johannis Finor'. Further endorsed in pencil: '42'.
