Administrative / Biographical History

H. O. Hughes, playwright of Cefnmawr, Llangaffo is the author of Yr Unig Fab and Y Melinydd. He was, for a considerable time, in London, acting as private secretary to Lord Rhondda (Mr D. A. Thomas) and in consequence, a number of his plays have an English setting and atmosphere. However, he did not neglect subjects drawn from his study and observations of the Welsh countryside, and seemed to have a strong predilection in favour of historical studies, as witness his two plays on the Glyndwr period and the two on the Cefn Ydfa tragedy.
