Scope and Content

Twenty-seven letters, 1981-1983, from Gerry Maclochlainn, a Sinn Fein activist on the United Kingdom mainland, from Maidstone prison to Ioan M. Richard, organiser of 'Dros Ryddid', a left wing republican movement in South Wales. At the time, Maclochlainn was serving a four year prison term following conviction on conspiracy charges. The letters contain personal news and comments on the political situation, particularly in Wales and Ireland, and ff. 31-2 include biogaphical details.
