Letters, notes, references and printed items as well as revisions and the final draft of Shrewsbury's major work A History of the Bubonic Plague in the British Isles , 1970; miscellaneous materials including illustrations, lantern slides, maps and file cards; notebook containing research material for a History of the Witchcraft in the British Isles .

John F. D. Shrewsbury, 1898-1971, was Professor of Bacteriology at the University of Birmingham, 1937-1963.

Acquisition Information

This collection was deposited in 1980 by Shrewsbury's son. A subsequent deposit was received from the family in 1998. The collection was then transferred from the Barnes Medical Library in 2000.
