Scope and Content

The National Agricultural Labourers Union (NALU) was founded by Joseph Arch, a Methodist preacher and British labour leader, in 1872 and he served as its president until it was dissolved in 1896. This collection, which includes records, minute book, photographs and banner, came to Nuffield Library via G.D.H. Cole who bought it from Thomas Bayliss in 1939.
