Administrative / Biographical History
D.Morris Jones worked as a collier in a number of pits in the Swansea and Dulais valleys from the 1920s onwards. He took an active role in his local South Wales Miners' Federation lodge and attended National Council of Labour Colleges classes, some of which were taught by Nun Nicholas. D. Morris Jones was also an active Communist Party member up until the middle of the Second World War. He later worked as a colliery official and was the Secretary of the Clydach Lodge of the National Association of Colliery Overmen, Deputies and Shotfirers (NACODS).
