Administrative / Biographical History
The London Postal Superintending Officers' Association was formed in 1893. In 1948 it amalgamated with the Association of (Uniformed) Postal Supervising Officers, retaining the name Association of London Postal Superintending Officers. In 1952 this merged union itself amalgamated with the Post Office Controlling Officers' Association and the Central Telegraph Superintending Officers' Association to form the Association of Post Office Controlling Officers.
