Administrative / Biographical History

Administrative History The firm originated in Sunderland in 1793 as Webster and Grimshaw, and was incorporated in 1899. Both fibre and wire ropes were manufactured until 1917, when the manufacture of fibre ropes ceased. The firm became part of British Ropes in 1967.
