Custodial History
The diagram of title, [c1729] was initially deposited with the British Records Association through Simmonds Church Rackham, solicitors, London; the mortgage to property in Pennsylvania, 1874 was deposited with the British Records Association as part of a larger deposit through Flegg&Sons, later Rye&Leman, solicitors, London - other papers in the deposit, relating to Australasia, were assigned a separate shelf number on deposit to the library; the mortgage of various personal estates, 1899 and the loan to aid the foundation of the Pottsville Iron&Steel Company, 1891 were deposited at the British Records Association through Taylor Garrett, solicitors, London. A further deposit of papers relating to a boundary commission in North Carolina and Virginia, 1732-1750 were initially deposited by the British Records Association at the library as part of the same collection, then transferred to Longleat House on 31st October 1988 when it was discovered that they were the property of the Marquess of Bath.
