Scope and Content

Robert Harrison, legally an inhabitant of Scarborough, Yorkshire, watch-maker, married while living in Royston and had a son, also called Robert. After his wife's death, he married again, but he has since deserted his second wife, Elizabeth, who lives in Wimpole and is thought to be pregnant with Harrison's child. John Handley of Wimpole, yeoman, Joseph Norman of Arrington, yeoman, and George Hawks of Wimpole, yeoman, have now requested the removal of Elizabeth and her stepson to Scarborough and they stand bound in #200 to absolve the authorities and townsfolk of Royston from all expenses connected with Robert Harrison's dependants. Signed and sealed by Handley, Norman, and Hawks, witnessed by Thomas and Elizabeth Lewinton, duty stamps.
