Administrative / Biographical History

A. Pope-Russell, of the Friends' Ambulance Unit, served with No. 16 Ambulance Train on the Western Front from 31 July 1918 to 30 Jan. 1919. He was known as Ben Gunn to colleagues and was actively involved in organising future "Old Sixteeners" reunions and news-sheets.
