Scope and Content

Comprises material relating to music at University of Wales, Bangor including programmes of concerts given at the university and miscellaneous papers concerning the Music Department including lists of students, minutes, notes, letters, invoices etc. Also contains programmes and leaflets concerning concerts and musical events outside the university.

Administrative / Biographical History

Eric Morris (1921-1981), formerly of the Music Department of the University of Wales, Bangor. Born in Llanelli, educated at Llanelli Boys' Grammar School and the University of Wales, Aberystwyth where he graduated in music, he spent five years in the Royal Air Force, posted for most of that time in India where he gave recitals and concerts and was for a time in charge of the viceroy's plane. In 1949 he became music master at Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen and afterwards resident violinist at Bangor.
