In the 1650s, Castle Piggin (also Castle Pidgin and Castle Biggon) was bought by William Brigstocke of Carmarthenshire who married Catherine Woodford. In 1709, their daughter, Mary Brigstocke, sold Castle Piggin to John Griffiths of Dryslwyn, a surgeon. He tore down the old mansion and built a new one in 1711. He became High Sheriff of Carmarthenshire in 1722, and his daughter, Jane Griffiths, married the Rev. Anthony Jones, of St George's, Middlesex, who then settled at Castle Piggin. After her death in 1786, her next of kin, Griffith Price of Penllergaer, Glamorgan, took possession of the estate. After years of Chancery litigation, Richard Coney-Jones of Carmarthen was declared as Mrs Jane Jones-Gwynne's maternal heir, and a part of the estate was sold to pay off encumbrances. In 1831, it was bought by Walter Owen Price, who pulled down the ruins and erected a mansion yards from the old one. Walter Owen Price and his wife, Eleanor, had a son, Lloyd Price (d. 1871), of Abermarlais Park, Carmarthenshire, who was married to Priscilla Willy Lewes of Cwmhyar. Their son, Meredydd Lewes Willy Lloyd Price (1857-1938), a solicitor, was married to Fanny Margaret Lloyd, of Gilfachwen, Llandysul, Cardiganshire. The family's interests included Danygraig, Ystradwrallt, Laques estate, Llansteffan, Troedrhiwfenydd estate, Llandysul, the estates of the Griffiths and Nicholls families of Llanegwad and Llangathen, Carmarthenshire; Bronglyn and Havod Vorgan, Llanfynydd, Carmarthenshire; the Glangwilly estate, Llanllawddog, Carmarthenshire; Cwmhyar, Llandysul; Tythyn y Greod estate, Llanwenog, Cardiganshire; and estates in Roth and St Elvis.

Meredydd Lewes Willy Lloyd Price was a solicitor; it is probable that Meredydd took over his grandfather (Walter Owen Price of Castle Piggin)'s practice and these collection of deeds then passed to Messrs R. T. P. Williams through Edgar Williams, a partner of the firm and one of Meredydd's executors.
