Scope and Content

Drawings, with a few photographs, of English baptismal fonts, chiefly by Charlotte Esther Coxe. The sketches, many of which are coloured, are signed and are all mounted on stout paper and kept in portfolios.

Administrative / Biographical History

Charlotte Esther Coxe was the wife of Henry Octavius Coxe (1811-1881), Bodley's Librarian. Details of Henry Octavius Coxe are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.
