Their grandson was John Wynne, whose second wife was Ann Fry of Strood, Kent. Samuel Parr Lynes was the grandson of John Wynne and his first wife. The Sampson family was of English origin, members living in Yorkshire and Bath. Charles John Sampson moved to Aberdunant, near Tremadog, Caernarfonshire, and married Emily Jane Wynne of Garthewin, Denbighshire. Their descendants maintained various homes in Caernarfonshire but had property elsewhere, particularly in Wandsworth, Surrey.
