The collection is composed of letters about parliamentary business, and there is also a letter of his wife, Lady Reay.

Administrative / Biographical History

Donald James Mackay was born in The Hague, 22 December 1839. He was Rector of St. Andrews University, 1884-1886. Mackay was Governor of Bombay 1885-1890, and Under-Secretary for India, 1894-1895. He was also Chief of Clan Mackay and was created a Knight of the Thistle in 1911. Donald James Mackay, 11th Baron Reay, died on 1 August 1921.
