Administrative / Biographical History

Abraham Foulkes (fl. 1853-1872) of Newbridge, Ruabon, Denbighshire, was a surveyor. His siblings included John Foulkes, of Everton, Liverpool, and Elizabeth Gilles of Cefn, Ruabon. His work was mainly in Denbighshire and Flintshire, but he also worked elsewhere in Wales. He was involved with local bodies including Ruabon School Board and the Plas Madoc estate.
