Collection of over 700 titles on naval history, with particular emphasis on the ships and naval operations of World War II. The collection, compiled by Jack Williams, also contains research files which assemble information on ships and minesweepers, including photographs, cuttings, notes and unpublished material.

After volunteering for service in the Royal Navy in 1942, aged 17, Jack Williams served on the HMS Raleigh before being drafted to the Fleet Minesweeper HMS Spanker. Since retiring in 1983, he has occupied his time as a naval historian. He is the founder of the Algerines Association.

Donated to the University by Jack Williams in 2000 through connections with the then University Librarian Derek Law and his interests in the Society for Nautical Research.
