Scope and Content

Mackenzie's papers consister of general correspondence, 1925-37; correspondence relating to the Royal Commission on Newfoundland, 1933, with letters relating to Newfoundland affairs, 1934-7; and a desk diary for 1933.

Administrative / Biographical History

William Warrender Mackenzie, 1st Baron Amulree of Strathbraan (1860-1942) was a lawyer and industrial arbitrator. He was chairman of numerous Royal Commissions, including the Royal Commission on Newfoundland, 1933, and Secretary of State for Air, 1930-1.
