Papers, 1830-1937, of the Lewis family of Felinganol, Llanrhystud, Cardiganshire, comprising four title deeds, 1830-1865, relating to properties in the parish of Llanrhystud; letters, 1862-1930, in Welsh, relating to business and family affairs, together with poetry, some by and in the autograph of John Lewis ('Eos Glan Wyre'), including verse written on the reverse of a printed balance sheet, 1861-1862, of 'Cymdeithas Ddyngarol Llanrhystid' (Cambrian Benefit Society); probate, 1865, of the will of Margaret Morgan of Felinganol, and papers relating thereto, 1865-1906; two account books, 1865-1924, of milling, etc., at Felinganol; three account books and loose papers, 1882-1937, of Llanrhystud Baptist Chapel; and six charms, [late 19 cent.-early 20 cent.], to preserve the livestock, etc., of members of the family from witchcraft.

Following the marriage of John Lewis ('Eos Glan Wyre', 1836-1892) to Jane Davies, the former went to reside at his wife's home at Felinganol, Llanrhystud. Seven children were born to the couple, including the Rev. David Wyre Lewis (1872-1966). The musician David Lewis (1828-1908), brother of John Lewis, was another notable member of this family.
