Broadcast on BBC2 as part of the family history series in April 2001. The programme takes a relative of the London Missionary Society missionary James Chalmers from England to Papua New Guinea, at the same time exploring his life while following in his footsteps. This includes travelling to the Fly River area of Papua, where Chalmers was killed by the 'Goaribari tribe' in 1901. The programme features copies of archival material from the Council for World Mission collection at SOAS Library, and some filming of original photographs was carried out in the Library.
