Administrative / Biographical History

V. C. Coombs (b. 1897 at Beckenham, Kent) was educated at the City of London School. He served with the Artists' Rifles from 1915. A Lieutenant, RFC (Royal Flying Corps) from 1916, he was captured in 1917 and held as a POW (Prisoner of War) at Trier and Holzminden.
