Administrative / Biographical History

Wypers (Glasgow) Ltd , licensed premises, Glasgow, Scotland , was incorporated as a private company on 11 May 1944  with an initial share capital of GBP 40,000 divided into 40,000 shares of GBP 1 each. The main objects of the company were to carry out the businesses of wine, beer and spirit merchants, licensed victuallers, hotel, restaurant, café, tavern, refreshment room keeper and brewers' agent. The company went into voluntary liquidation in 1964  . No more is known about the company's history to date.

Custodial History

The company's books and papers were handed over to J & R Tennent Ltd and assets transferred to West of Scotland Taverns Ltd. It moved to the University of Glasgow in 1991. Custody of the Scottish Brewing Archive was transferred to Glasgow University Archive Services in 2008.
