Scope and Content

Grant of a conditional annuity for 99 years by Dame Jane Ingaldesthorp to Roger Westmynster, prior, and to the convent of the monastery and cathedral church of Ely, of œ20 issuing from lands in Cambridgeshire and Kent, guaranteeing the prior and convent peaceful possession of lands in Burwell and Dullingham, leased them by William Chubbys DD, William Plommne, clerk, Thomas Chayne knight, Thomas Cotton esq, and Robert Bradbery. The grant is conditional upon performance by the prior and convent of their obligations under a tripartite indenture made between them, Jane Ingaldesthorp, and John Fyneux king's serjeant, William Sutton clerk, Richard Sutton, Geffery Downys, and Jamys Downes clerk, dated 14 Aug 1493, the president, scholars and fellowship of Queens' College, Cambridge, then being empowered to distress for the said annual rent. Tripartite indenture. Tagged pendant red round common seal. Further tag, with seal wanting. Contemporary endorsement of identification.
