Acquisition Information

In 1938, the writer's widow, Olga Schnitzler, approached an English student, Erik Blackwell, who was resident in Austria, about the donation of Arthur Schnitzler's papers to an appropriate institution. Mr Blackwell contacted the Cambridge University Librarian, asking as a matter of urgency whether Cambridge Library would accept the writer's entire legacy as a donation from Olga Schnitzler.
