Admission of tenant, Witcham, Cambridgeshire

At a Court of the Rev. James Wood, D.D., Dean of Ely, before Hugh Robert Evans, gent., steward. The homage presents that on 5 Aug. 1820 William Forbes of New Sleaford, Lincs., and William Bailey, gent., of Caythorpe, Lincs., 2 customary tenants, did, for £32 paid by Joseph Saberton Saberton, gent., of Chatteris, did surrender by the hands of William Foster, dep. steward, that piece of land of 3 acres, 1 rood, 28 per., called four Menmaths in the Meadlands, Witcham, abutting on lands belonging to William Wiles, esq., to which Forbes and Bailey were admitted in Oct. 1819...To the use of the second Joseph Saberton Saberton, who is in Court by his attorney, Jesse Claxton, and prays admittance. Examined by H.R. Evans, steward.
