Ephemera relating to the visit of The Queen to De Montfort University in 2012, including several brochures which contain information about the University and an itinerary of the day, limited edition commemorative brochures, which contain images from the visit, two magazines published by the University containing detailed coverage of the day with several photographs. The box also contains sashes that were worn by the volunteers and table decorations that were used on the day. There are also several DVDs of the news reporting of the events, as well as invitations and etiquette guides.

Administrative / Biographical History
Queen Elizabeth II, alongside the Duke of Edinburgh and Duchess of Cambridge, visited Leicester to begin her national Diamond Jubilee tour in 2012. The Royal party visited De Montfort University where the Queen and Duchess watched a Fashion and Cultural Show while the Duke met the Square Mile team. The Queen also unveiled a commemorative plaque on the the Hugh Aston Building.
